Remember ? We met in

Once upon a time,

when we were younger, we shared a major chunk of our early lives fantasizing of today. What we dreamt of have become a reality for most while others are on that amazing journey to achieve success and fame in different career paths

Project summary

Once upon a time, when we were younger, we shared a major chunk of our early lives in close proximity and are accustomed to the academic and creative challenges education provides within the boundaries of the school.

We spent a good five to ten years with one another in a myriad of emotions, ranging from positivity to negativity-innocent moments, joys, sorrows, challenges, painful moments of anger, jealousy. In all these, individually and even collectively, we had dreams of becoming great. We wanted to be pilots, medical practitioners, agricultural moguls, lawyers, entrepreneurs, tech gurus, financial and banking experts, fashion designers, writers, actors, poets and more.

Today, these dreams have become a reality for most while others are on that amazing journey to achieve success and fame in their chosen career path. These remarkable stories of illustriousness were hatched in school libraries, booms, football pitches, preps, refectories, classrooms and even dormitories of private, public and mission schools alike throughout the national territory; forming into crystal the notion that the story of who we have become today dates as far back as our good old school days. The route has changed from one person to another. However, the stories resonate the same. The steeper the hills were to climb from one individual to the other, the more astounding these stories have been written.

25 Years After is a concept designed to foster networking, career prospects, lifelong connection, seamless data sharing and financial aid among ex-students from schools of the Cameroonian anglo-saxon educational system in a bid to enhance alumni engagement and sustainable development.

The concept distinguishes and shines a light on the path of greatness, connecting our current socioeconomic standing to our secondary and high school years, with focus on the days of innocence where dreaming was allowed, healthy competition was encouraged, and the fear factor was not a concern; traits exhibited by those who are standing out and are still blazing new trails for an even greater future.

Objective

25 Years After aims to encourage healthy competition amongst peers who attended different anglo-saxon schools in Cameroon twenty-five years ago, develop innovative solutions to build more inclusive and sustainable communities through debates, establish mentor-mentee relations between role models and emerging leaders, create opportunities for investment in an enabling environment, celebrate excellence and most especially, relive these great yet simple moments which inspired us to dream.
